![]() Worth Repeating This Month
"All major confrontations over the right to free thought, free speech, and free inquiry have taken the form — of a religious attempt to assert the literal and limited mind over the ironic and inquiring one." — Christopher Hitchens "History shows that every intelligent man who has gone into this investigation, if he gave it adequate examination at all, has come out believing in spirits; this circumstance places the burden of proof on the shoulders of the skeptic." — James H. Hyslop, Ph.D "The human being, like the immortals, naturally places sexual intercourse far and away above all other joys — yet he has left it out of his heaven!” — Mark Twain Lie of the Month
It is a sin to speak with spirits.
Some people have concerns about sitting with a medium or consulting a psychic because they think that doing so puts them at odds with certain teachings in the Bible.
The main support for this belief in the Old Testament is from the book known as Leviticus. The key verse (generally labeled 19:31) says, “Do not turn to mediums or
wizards, do not seek them out to be defiled by them.”
There is another verse in Leviticus and one in Deuteronomy that clearly judge those who make a practice of talking to dead people: “A man or woman who is a medium
or a wizard shall be put to death;” and “There shall not be found among you any one who … is a medium [for they are] an abomination to the Lord.”
Book of the Month The Conscious Universe ![]() by Dean Radin, Ph.D. This myth-shattering book explains the evidence for the veracity of psychic phenomena, uniting the teachings of mystics, the theories of quantum physics, and the latest in high-tech experiments. With painstaking research and deft, engaging prose, Radin dispels the misinformation and superstition that have clouded the understanding of scientists and laypeople alike concerning a host of fascinating oddities. Psychokinesis, remote viewing, prayer, jinxes, and more-all are real, all have been scientifically proven, and the proof is in this book. Radin draws from his own work at Princeton, Stanford Research Institute, and Fortune 500 companies, as well as his research for the U.S. government, to demonstrate the surprising extent to which the truth of psi has already been tacitly acknowledged and exploited. |
