Lie of the Month

The Devil made you do it.

In 1970, comedian Flip Wilson popularized the character Geraldine Jones whose catch phrase “The Devil made me do it!” is often repeated to this day. Although that phrase is usually tossed off in a joking manner, the idea of satanic influence in human affairs is no laughing matter. As the ultimate bogyman, the image of a King of Hell is employed to terrify the ignorant and the weak-minded into submitting to the will of tyrants and Bible salesmen throughout Western culture.. . . . . Worth Repeating This Month
“The churches — of whatever denomination — have built up a monstrous conception of the Eternal Father of Heaven. They have made of Him, on the one hand, a mountain of corruption by shallow lip service, by spending large sums of money to erect churches and chapels to His `glory,' by pretending a groveling contrition for having offended Him, by professing to fear Him. Fear Him! Who is all love!"— Spirit of Monsignor Robert Hugh Benson via Anthony Borgia, 1954
"If we could get just one message across to the young ... it would be that sex should be for recreation, not procreation." — Dr. Phyllis Kronhausen, psychotherapist
"To imagine that consciousness is ruled by the laws of physics and chemistry is as preposterous as the suggestion that a nation could be ruled by the laws of grammar." — Sir Arthur Eddington, physicist
"It is from your larger identity that you form the reality that you know. It is up to you to do this with joy and vigor, clearing your conscious mind so that the deeper knowledge of your greater identity can form joyous expressions in the world of the flesh."
— Seth spirit via Jane Roberts

This Month's Recommended Reading

Book CoverGod Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything — Christopher Hitchens
The title of this book must have been added by some dunce in the marketing department — being human, the author is clearly unqualified to judge what God is or isn't. But the subtitle is absolutely accurate. Christopher Hitchens was an atheist who had no understanding of spirituality, yet his book is highly recommended for all readers because it thoroughly and clearly reveals the true and fearsome nature of organized religions.
Book CoverFingerprints of the Gods — Graham Hancock
The results of a worldwide quest to put together all the pieces of the vast and fascinating jigsaw of mankind’s hidden past. In ancient monuments as far apart as Egypt’s Great Sphinx, the strange Andean ruins of Tihuanaco, and Mexico’s awe-inspiring Temples of the Sun and Moon, he reveals not only the clear fingerprints of an as-yet-unidentified civilization of remote antiquity, but also startling evidence of its vast sophistication, technological advancement, and evolved scientific knowledge.

Book CoverMindsight: Near-Death and Out-of-Body Experiences in the Blind — Kenneth Ring, Ph.D.
A possibly unique book that is scrupulously researched and well-documented. It is difficult to escape the conclusion that blind people, even if blind since birth, can sometimes see colors, objects, and physical scenes during stressful "out-of-body" experiences. Such an ability strongly supports the existence of an astral body.
Book CoverConversations with God: Book One
—Neale Donald Walsch
While no more a conversation with "God" than any other conversation between two spirits, the result is extraordinary, insightful, and refreshing. Walsch's guide relentlessly pushes him to grasp the true nature of being human. Book Three has some uncommon thoughts on un-Earthly beings.
